They can. When I got mine, the orthodontist inserted these itty bitty green washers between my teef. This was to create space for the braces. Then a couple weeks later the green thingies came out and the braces went on, then the wires. He used this tool that sounded like a ratchet wrench to tighten the wires. It did hurt a little bit, but the pain went away after a couple days, and I was fine. Until...... my next appointment, when he did the ratchet thing again. This was pretty much the way it went from that appointment on. You get used to it, only to go back in and get tortured again at your next appointment, over and over. But the end result is nice. I have a nicethhh thet of teef now.
never had them
Yes, the first week or so is agony and eating certain things after is very uncomfortable.
they're uncomfortable when they tighten them up but after a few days it's good
I imagine no
what are you deaf
They hurt a little, well, quite a bit at first.... they also tighten them up from time to time which takes a bit getting used to. Make sure you always wear your retainer after you braces come off////...I threw mine away after a month and my bottom tooth got crooked :)
I wore them when I was younger. They never hurt, but my teeth would be a little sore for a day or two after a cross wire was replaced. Nothing that Tylenol couldn’t help.
Maybe when it's growing
