Why do many Japanese commit suicide
I think there is a lot of pressure on them to make money, be successful, etc.
overdose of work ethic
Uptight culture. Pressure on students to excel makes many suicide by jumping off of rooftops. And some companies have employees come in early to force them to "meditate" which entails being hit on the head repeatedly before starting work and pretending they are oblivious to it by continuing to "meditate".
Japan is only number 26
Because they have a lot of Kamikaze bombers
Overwork, overstudy makes Johnny a suicidal guy.
Toyota workers have the highest suicide rates of any coorporation in the world. Long hours, impossible targets and kaizan blitzes. Amazon is the next Toyota with their impossible package targets.
They don't have the highest suicide rate.
The pressure to conform is tremendous.
Because the Japanese culture is to work harder than the human body can handle
When your only reason to wake up in the morning is to get to work, Your life becomes shallow. When your only purpose in life is to serve a company, your existence becomes empty. When your entire life revolves around your career and have nothing else to live for, well you can become pretty depressed.
its not. its Lithuania
At least they don't shoot others, its more manly and braver.
They are only one of the countries with the highest suicide rate tied with Korea and China. East Asian countries tend to have a high suicide rate because of the tremendous pressure to do well in school and get a good job. That's a consequence of the stupid Confucian ideology to work hard when not everyone can perform the same and reach the desired goal of the society.
they hate themselves
In western cultures suicide is considered cowardly. In Asian cultures is considered brave, sometimes even honorable. Now that is an old way of thinking to be fair. Seppuku is a practice that hasn’t been practiced for generations. Modern Japan frowns upon suicide. But some of their people still have that old way of thinking. Plus they are a lot more sensitive to things like honor. If they fail at something they don’t bounce back as easily as we do, they are really hard on themselves. In some ways that is strength, in others it’s a weakness to not be able to handle failure.
It’s just cultural differences of opinion. I see suicide as weak and pathetic, others may see it as strength and bravery. But I’m still standing, and you’re not, so I think the truth of my views speak for themselves.
They're upset that they didn't think of K-pop first.
It no longer does
It now bounces every year between Byelorussia, Lithuania, and Latvia
Before the Soviet Union fell, Hungary and Czechoslovakia had that honor.
Too many people in too small an area.
Family members put a lot of pressure on there children to succeed and if they don't they are outcasted that is why Japan has a high suicide rate
It's culturally acceptable.
