yes - toasted french bread, aioli and roasted asparagus - very good. I would add onion and a nice cheese like Jarlsberg unmelted

My father's favourite!
Use a brown sliced loaf, and cut the crusts off. Flatten the slices with a heavy rolling pin, then butter generously, apply a thin layer of Hellman's mayo, lay the cooked/canned asparagus (make sure it's well drained, or it'll make the bread soggy) across one end of each slice, then roll up tightly towards the other end.
Slice each roll into two or three bite-sized mini-rolls, and place on a plate with the open end down so that they don't unroll.
Make plenty. I can eat eight or ten in no time at all ...
